ABOUT ENGEL’S PUB

The last of its kind, Engel’s Pub was established in 1934 as one of the original pubs in downtown Edmonds.

When Prohibition ended in late 1933, the Engel Family quickly recognized an unfilled need and opened Engels Pub in 1934. Operated by the founding Engel family until 1981, the pub grew up along with the City of Edmonds, and to this day is the longest continually operating business within the city limits. In fact, Engels Pub still operates under its original liquor license, which is the second oldest liquor license in the State of Washington!

There have been a few tall tales told, a resident ghost, and a lot of good times were had here at Engels. Come on by and catch a bit of local lore, or just enjoy your favorite cocktail and listen to some great Blues.

Voted best Blues venues in Washington (2009) by the Washington State Blues Society, Engel’s regularly hosts award winning local and national artists. Check our calendar to see what is happening this week!
